Sporting Clubs and Contacts
Dowerin is an active and successful sporting based community where leisure and fitness activities are an increasingly important component of everyday life.
Dowerin has broad range of recreation facilities for a rural community of its size.
Boarding three regions (Avon, Central Wheatbelt and Wheatbelt North), Dowerin acts as a junction for communities to the north, east and south of the Central Wheatbelt which also gives a broader scope with a range of different sporting associations.
The majority of Dowerin’s sporting clubs are represented in the colours black and gold and are aptly named the ‘Dowerin Tigers’ whilst the Dowerin Cricket and Bowling Club are represented by Green and Gold.
Passionate supporters of Football, Netball, Hockey, Cricket and Bowls have been treated to a number of grand final berths in recent years with black and gold the colours of choice in down town Dowerin.
We actively encourage participation within our clubs and organisations in Dowerin, if you are interested in sport feel free to contact the relevant club, come along to watch, give a helping hand or join in!

Golf
The Dowerin Golf Course is located at the corner of Metcalf & Jones Street and boasts an 18 hole par 70 course with sanded greens. Every hole is different and each offers its own challenges.
Overall the course is short but tight and when it comes to putting they are fast for sand greens with most holes having subtle breaks.
During the 2009 season the club installed synthetic tees throughout the course. Golf season runs from April to September when good rains make the fairways and greens terrific to play.
Keep an eye out for the 8th, 9th and 10th holes as they are three of the toughest consecutive holes you will find anywhere.
