Environmental Health

The Shire of Dowerin provides a range of environmental health services including in relation to pool safety, food safety, disability access, mosquito and other pest control, wastewater management and waste facilities.

Noise Control

Both Council and the Police have responsibility for noise control in the Shire. Noise nuisances come in many forms including:

• Animals
• Construction
• Music
• Parties
• Power Tools
• Vehicles

There are legal provisions that limit noise levels and times allowed. Complaints can be made about annoying noise to the Shire Administration Office during business hours.

For after hours immediate action the police can be contacted to request action.

Water Sampling

The Shire's non-scheme water supply is under the surveillance of Council. This includes the testing of the water quality of the swimming pool and treated effluent re-use.
