PUBLIC NOTICE

APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Following an extensive and highly competitive recruitment process, the Shire of Dowerin is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Manisha Barthakur to the role of Chief Executive Officer after a Special Council Meeting held on 7 August 2024.

Together with your Council, I warmly welcome Manisha to the role and look forward to working with her in leading the Dowerin Community into the future.

Manisha is currently working as a senior member in the executive team leading the corporate service division at Shire of Bruce Rock. Manisha brings extensive strategic business management experience from India and a strong background in WA local government. She has been pivotal in introducing best practices within the organisation and played a key role in completing the supermarket project at Bruce Rock, as well as contributing to various other community projects.

Manisha will move to Dowerin with her husband Kunal, her daughter Nyra and her in-laws; Manju and Nripen and she is looking forward to engaging in the community. 

The Shire of Dowerin also acknowledges the contributions made by our interim Acting CEO, Aaron Wooldridge, who has held the fort over the past few months and extends its sincere gratitude for his dedication and service throughout this difficult period.

We are sure you will welcome Manisha and her new energy, along with her family, to our lovely community in October.
